About Amy

I’ve spent my life at the intersection of travel, movement, and human connection.

I’m someone who believes curiosity keeps us young, movement keeps us grounded, and joy is something we practice — not something we wait for.

A Life Shaped by Travel

Travel has been part of my story from the very beginning.

My parents immigrated to the United States from Okinawa, Japan. My father worked in the airline industry and later opened his own travel agency, Okinawa Orient Travel Agency, in South Central Los Angeles, which introduced me early on to the idea that the world is meant to be explored.

I began my career as a travel agent in Marina del Rey, California and went on to spend more than three decades working across travel, tourism, and hospitality — including roles with organizations such as Disney Experiences, Air New Zealand, Holland America Line, Seabourn, and AAA Travel.

Travel has never just been my profession. It’s been my teacher — shaping how I see people, cultures, and the many ways we find meaning and connection.

Movement, Humor, and Healthy to 100

Movement has always been part of my life.

I’ve been an athlete since childhood — playing team sports like softball and volleyball, staying active through adulthood, and later embracing endurance challenges such as Ironman triathlons, various half marathons, and the Walt Disney World marathon. Fitness has never been about performance for me; it’s about vitality, resilience, and joy.

My Okinawan heritage — rooted in one of the world’s Blue Zones — deeply influences how I think about longevity. “Healthy to 100” isn’t a slogan. It’s a way of living that values consistency, community, humor, and purpose.

And humor matters. I’ve always believed laughter is a form of movement, too — one that connects us quickly and reminds us not to take ourselves too seriously.

This Chapter

In my 60’s, I stepped into a new chapter — working as an Entertainment Host and Fitness Instructor at sea.

This role brings together everything I’ve lived: travel, movement, humor, and human connection. I engage guests through activities, fitness, hosting, and shared experiences — helping create moments of joy and belonging.

This site is a place where I reflect on that journey and share what I continue to learn along the way.

If you’re curious about travel, longevity, reinvention, or simply living with a little more joy, I’m glad you found your way here.
